Went to watch Yoga's concert last sat... It was SPLENDID!!! Although some people may say that he's boring but I think its his style and his type of songs that he likes and affected him in some ways or another... Went to watch the gala premiere of '家有喜事2009' last thursday... Managed to catch some glimpses of 吴君如 at the event... Got the free tix from my company because my agency was the top agency in smartsell program in 2008...

Overall the show was so-so... Brainless as well as plotless... I was prepared for the 'brainless and plotless' part, because this is a 贺岁片, so its all for a good laugh... But I did not manage to laugh at all except for a dew '呵呵' and thats all...
Will not spend money for such a show if i were u...

PW, Susan, Celia, Ray, ZL, Chung, Desomond and I wanted to go to Balaclavia at Suntec for countdown to 2009... We thought that it will be very crowded as it was supposed to be, so we went there at around 630 to 'chop' seats. BUT... The whole place was bare... It was happy hour and yet it was bare... Someone even approached us telling us to get a life, look at the place 'its happy hour. Do u think its happy now?'... Initially we thought ok... nvm.. lets giv e it a try... Who knows, at around 10pm... we were so bored by the band and place that we decided to move to St James... And thats where the party begins... woo... Happy 2009 people!

Ok ok... I'm old... I like to listen to 凤飞飞 and even wen to her concert just now... BUT my brother and sister also went with me together with my parents, so who's old?! hahaha

The concert was fantastic!! It was way way way much better then the other one we watch earlier this year... Her 台风 and stage presence was excellent! I will watch her again when she comes to Singapore again...

What was lacking in the concert is the very very lousy Singaporean audience... They werealllike dead fishes who can't clap their flippers... If not for the taiwanese fan club, i think this concert will be dead even though what's on the stage was world class...

As u all know, I just came back from China... For these 9 days, we went to 厦门，潮州，汕头 and 海南岛. For the last few days, we stayed at 海南岛 where my relatives are. These relatives are actually my cousins 堂哥，堂姐, nephews and even a grandson (my cousin's grandson)... So actually they are quite close to me...

My 堂哥 gave me our 家谱. In case u dunno, this 家谱 is a poem which help us differentiate our generation. Because one generation after the next will adopt the next word in the poem. I shall post my 家谱 up here.

The poem is to be read from right to left, top to bottom.
For my generation, its 明(they unified all 罗 clan, so therefore my 长 has being changed to 明)... My son will be 崇... So his name will be 罗崇_, his son will be 罗圣_, so on and so forth...

Halloween

Went with PW, Ray and Susan to Villa Bali for dinner during Halloween night. It was a nice place which serves quite good Northern Indian and Thai food. After that we went to Dempsey's Ben and Jerry's for our dessert where coincidentally bumped into Yvonne and her boyfriend who was dressed like the killer in the movie "Scream".

Then the next day I have to go for my lessons at SIM. OMG!!! How glad I am to have taken F Maths before during my JC days. Its all statistics!! I hate stats! Sigh... No choice lah... Have to REALLY revise liao lor...

Got a coupon for sizzler. 4th person eat for free. So me jioed PQ, YK and Don for dinner together. It was a nice evening where we chatted from 8 until the restaurant closed. Wanted to go for 永和豆浆 at Geylang but could not find the place. Instead we went 'night safari-ing' along the roads. Ha ha.

Was at the chalet last weekend...

Photography interest rekindled

Thanks to my sis, who kept pestering me to get a DSLR so that she can take pictures when we go to Turkey the end of the year, the photography interest which was asleep in me for eons has finally rekindled.

When I was young, my father bought a SLR because I like to take pictures. But due to the weight and laziness, I gave up months after. Then here comes IA period, where I met Eugene, SZ and Jane who are fanatics in photography, I slowly pick it up again. But still I hate the weight of my lao kok kok camera, so I use a prosumer camera instead. After the canon prosumer camera died on me, I do not own a camera anymore.

On the other hand, my sis loves to take pictures wherever she goes. And I have t admit that she does take good pictures. If you go to her blog, you will see tons of pictures by her. So she wanted to get a DSLR.

To be frank, she knows nothing about taking a good picture, the technical parts that is, she managed to take good pictures.

So after a bit of pestering from her, I decided to look up for a bit of infomation about cameras and photography. And the fire in me lit up, even though its a very very small match fire now. haha...

Who knows, maybe I will get a DSLR and take award winning pictures in future... haha

Last Sat me and my friends went to Kallang Leisure Park... After that when I went to the Kallang MRT station, I was surprised by the amount of people there... Its only then I realised that the pick up point for the F1 race is near Kallang, so there is an abnormal amount of people in and out of the station... This is not the point, the point is the service I've witnessed there...

When me and my friends went thru the gantry into the station, we noticed a woman trying to go thru the gantry... She was tapping the card at the wrong gantry with the "X"... She was trying and trying for ages, so in the end we decided to help the woman... And the problem was solved by adding an extra 20 cents cos she did not pay the full amount when she bought the card...

What I was pissed off is that, the station control staff were chatting all the way in their comfortable air-con room... I thought their job is to 'control' the station and yet there is a helpless woman no knowing what to do...

Due to the circumstances, there are a few policemen standing guard... Then apparently, there was one standing at the gantry witnessing the turmoil the woman went thru without at least helping her to get the attention of the staff... I dun think there will be a riot if he was to stand away for a few seconds right???

I was kidnapped... This afternoon, I received a call from my mum's colleague... He sounded very urgent...

The conversation goes like this:

Colleague: Hello. Are u alright? Where are u?

Me: I am good. At home now.

Colleague: Are u sure? I am so and so... What is your full name?

Me:Cy... What happened?!

Colleague: Ok... I will call u back again...

Seconds later...

Collegue: Hello... Call me back using your house phone number...

Me: Ok

I called back

Me: Hello

Colleague: Your mum just received a phone call saying that you owe a huge sum of money... So u are alright. ok... I know what to do...

I called my mum then know everything... My mum received a call from 'one of her sons' crying out loud "Mummy!! They keep hitting me!" Then the kidnappers told my mum that I was a guarantor of someone then that someone ran away... with $80k...

So now a police report has being made...

Lucky we got watch 'crimewatch' on tv

So people let this be a reminder that to stay clam in this situation. Use another phone to call ur loved ones to ensure their safety...

Canopy, Bridge, Forest Walk

Susan, PW and I have being planning for this trip since last month... Am looking for it and the walk does not disappoint me at all... Let me take u for a walkthrough of the 9km walk...

We started at Kent Ridge Park

After the short canopy walk, we reach the Horticulture Park where there are a lot of beautiful flowers and a lot of small garden areas for small gatherings and pinic...

After the Hort park, we approached the famous Alexandra Arch Bridge... This is a very modern and beautiful bridge, which is connected to the tree top walk... When walking along the bridge, u will feel like u are walking on the clouds where u can see the top of the trees... Its an experience... Can go there for a jog sometime...

Next is another beautiful bridge called the 'Henderson Waves'... The view was fantastic... U will feel like u are not in Singapore... The use of basic colours such as brown(wood) and white(metal) is very soothing... Perfect Combination...

Next we reached Mount Faber Jewel Box... In case you are thirsty or ran outta water, u can purchase a bottle of mineral water here at a small store in front, but I recommend u NOT do it, cos it cost a FREAKING $2.50 PER BOTTLE... So bring your own bottle when you go for the walk...

After jewel box, after faber walk then after another trail which I've forgot about the name, we reached VIVOCITY!! Wooo... 9 km all and all from kent ridge to vivo...

It was a very relaxing walk... Its great for family outings... But BE prepared... Wear comfortably, bring water, umbrellas(if u are afraid of the rain or steep roads) and of course a good CAMERA!!! I will go there again for pictures and gatherings at hort park...

Outing on last Friday

Last Friday, PW and I went for a run at ECP... It has been such a long time since I step foot on the tracks of ECP... I started near the end of ECP where the new park is located, ran to the NSRCC then back to the starting point... I think I've ran for only about 3 km, but it was a very comfortable and refreshing run...

Then after that we went to pick susan up to have dinner at Arab St... It was the first time I've been there... The place was so happening... It is a great place for all photographers to take beautiful pictures... We had Arabian food of course... The food was good... I forgot to take pictures before we ate, so here is a piece of fat from the mutton which I resisted from eating...

After that, we went to Harry's @ Dempsey Hill... How I hated the Dempsey Hill now, becauuse its so crowded and noisy now... It used to be so quiet and classy... But anyway, we went for a drink @ Harry's... As usual, it's 'my birthday' everytime we went for drinks... So our dear susan wrote a dedication for me again... *sigh... haha... Lucky no dancing on the stage this time... So here are the pictures... Quality wise, blame it on the camera phone...

The above is "Singapore Sling", but its erm... erm... I think I will stick to beer at Harry's...

NTUCO BBQ

Hmmm... Actually was looking forward to this BBQ since it was planned quite sometime ago... Initially we thought we can jio a number of people since Zhiqiang tried to inform everyone asap... But it turned out that the gross strength is 9... It was a small and cosy gathering though... At least i think they had fun playing wii...

I really appreciate the effort put in my them... The purchasing of food, booking of chalet and all the liasing... Thanks Zhiqiang and Suqing for the effort... I've done it and I know how difficult it is... so 3 cheers for them...

Virgin golf

Ha... Today I went to play golf for the first time... PW brought me to Marina Golf Course to play range after our gym session, cos me beginner then needa learn a lot of things... It is a very difficult game... A lot of fine tuning, a lot of posture thingy to remember... But overall its a very fun game, esp when u see ur ball goes further after each stroke... I wanna take up lessons, anyone interested to learn with me?

HA!! Went to watch the Zohan just now with Susan, PW, Ray and Zhao Ling...
It was quite a funny show... I did laugh at a few scenes... Esp the big ass mama scene... But other than that I can hardly laugh leh... I think I heard more laughter from my left side's crazy Sue (who started laughing even B4 the show starts)

Hmmm... Sometimes I wonder what kinda movie makes me laugh... Come to think of it, I hardly laugh at the comedies which I've watched in the cinema... I dun like to watch Jack Neo's lame jokes movies, I dun really like 周星驰's comedies, I dun laugh at shows such as "Dude. Where's my car?"... Because I find them too lame...

But I really laugh Tv shows such as "Whose Line is it anyway?", "Goodness Gracious Me", some episodes of "Friends" (but most of the time are the NG scenes) and a very old british comedy which i forgot the name, its about a language school teaching English... Maybe those are my kinda humour...

Oh my... Almost all of them are British, even though I watched the American version of "Whose Line is it anyway?", the show is originally British...

Lazy day out

Yesterday, someone and someone else took a day off to gather at someone else else's house for a whole day mahjong session. Had breakfast at 9am then went straight to mahjong. It was a relaxing day for all of us. (Even though its always relaxing for me)

After that someone else, someone else else and me went to punggol park's Bliss to have a couple of beers (4 jugs to be exact). Had a good talk and sharing session. Enjoyed it a lot.

Watched Kungfu Panda yesterday with my sis... Dunno why me wanna watch this movie... i think is the marketing... so me and my sis went to watch it yesterday...

At the end of everything on our way back, I asked my sis, "Did we just saw a movie 10 mins ago?". My sis replied, "Oh... Did we? I forgot."

So now you know how do I feel about the movie... oh, how do i know how do i feel when i dun even remember watching it... hmmm

Cambodia trip

Just came back from Cambodia last thursday... It was a family affair... It has been such a long long time since the whole family went overseas for a trip after Korea some donkey years back... It was nice...

Both my sis and I wanted to go to Cambodia is because of the rich cultural and historical background... She wanted to see Angkor Wat, I wanted to know more about Khmer Rouge... It was a very 'educational' trip... I've learnt alot from this trip...
Even though the weather was burning hot, this trip was worth it...

Have not gotten the photos from my sis yet... May put them up if i am not too lazy... haha

Sometimes u might thing that those very dramatic scenes from TV are just stories which the scriptwriters spin... But after these recent years, I am actually acting in a drama of my own... I always told my mum that our family is like acting in a drama show...

But now I hate sch holidays, because there's simply too many people around!!
I cannot eat in peace, ride in peace, walk in peace, shop in peace and due to my work nature, I cannot work in peace... Dammit students...

Keep your noise volume down, turn off all your 'play-to-let-everybody-hear-what-u-are-listening-to' phone and parents PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look after your child/children. Dun let them run wild and dun blame anyone for knocking your running amok children becuase YOU, the parents, are the ones who are supposed to look after your small little monsters. If you dun wanna look after your own kids, then dun give birth to them lah dammit! I dun understand, if some of you can leash your pets, I am sure u can keep an eye on your kids right? Or I should assume that your pets are more impt that your kids...

I think I am going crazy...

Ever since last year, I started to worry... what kinda worries??

For example:
Last yr my family went to Beijing, China for a tour... The worrying starts... It subsided a bit when they called me when they reached there... Then my worrying starts again on the day they leave for Singapore.. It stops when they arrived home...

Now its getting more and more ridiculous... Worrying starts when the phone rings for too long and no one picks up... Then I start to call and call again...
Or when smses were not replied fast if I am expecting one, for example last fri when my sis went out and was expected to be late. I smsed her, but no reply... I was like 'Wasn't she going to come back around 2-3am? Now its 4!'... Or my bro was supposed to be back home from his concert which I expects to be 11-12 plus... but he came back at around 2...

My parents will go out to go marketing and buy us breakfast on weekends... Worrying starts when they came back later then usual...

Now my worrying starts again when my mum told me that they are going to Hainan for a week in July...

I think I am going crazy...

Was having trouble sleeping again. Mind was full. Then started thinking about the close people I've met thru out the years since primary school.

Primary:
Joined CO in pri sch. Made a very good friend, Mingshan, she was the kinda big sister who takes care of you. Because she is one year older than all of us. Then Geraldine, who played the cello in CO. The 3 of us will go eat KFC in the morning before going to sch. Then I've joined an external CO at Fengshan CC where I've met or get to know better, Yanming, Beishi, JianYuan (Lost touch since).

Secondary:
Was the only one in my class to get into AHS. Went to sch on the first day with Yanming. From then on, I was alone. Was assigned to class 1H, the first people I met were Shiwen, Patrick and Nicholas. We were so noisy then until Ms Shahila(dunno whether I've spelled correctly or not) called us the 4 masketeers.
Joined CO (as usual) in sch then PAYCO ever since, who people I've met I shall classify them as the PAYCO people.

JC:
Once again I'm alone in my new class. After a few months, I've finally settled down in my new class. I've made a BIG group of friends who helped me a lot esp during JC 2. They are Mingliang, Guizhong, Michael and Edwin, we name ourselves as East, South, West, North and 中. Then there were Jiahui, Bibianna, Suiming, Yiqun, Wendy, Jesline and of course Shirui.
Joined CO AGAIN, where I've met Jiahao, Peixia, Christina, Liyun, Jingfen and once again Shirui. We are like 7 chatterboxes which can talked for the whole night.

NTU:
Met Zhiqiang and he can be called as my benefactor who helped me alot during the last 2 years in NTU. Then met Edwin, Kaiwen, Michelle, Fengling, Xiuhui whom I called the Rotaract People. Oh... How can I forget Jesmine, Jiahong, Jieyang, Weijun and Yaokun?

What can I say? Of course is PW and Susan. There nothing I can say, cos u noe it. Ha!

Millions of dollars

Even though I've being into this biz for a year. But today I realised that I am in charged of Millions of dollars of coverage for my clients! (And thats excluding many many more for hospitalisation coverage) This is huge responsibility and I am thankful to all of my existing clients for all the trust they showed me for the past year.

The majority of the public may think that they are paying premiums into the drain or thin air or rubbish chute, for a mere $200 per month, their lives are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars IMMEDIATELY. Imagine if one is to fall seriously ill, he/she will get the major illness coverage cheque to pay for the medical bills/medication!

Who says insurance are crap?!
So please dun treat agents as cockroaches. Agents are there to help you when you are really in need. Try asking your friends for $50K for medical treatment.

Met an old superviser of mine during my attachment days in uni last sunday... He was once 96kg but now he has lost 20kgs within a span of 2 years(i think)... I asked him how he did it... He replied,"3 times a week to the gym"... Then I asked him how can he be so discipline... He replied,"I dun think of slimming down. I think about the health benefits of exercising. And moreover I've paid membership fees, might as well make full use of it. And I have a buddy who exercise together."...

New Phone

I FIANLLY bought a new phone... Its the Sony Ericsson T650i!!! Its a "Talking" phone, meaning that it has all the basic functions but not as specialised as the "K" or "W" series... But its damn nice lor... With a metallic body, anti scratch screen and metallic green... This phone is chio I tell you... But the price is also very chio... It costs me $468... Which reminds me of an incident, I went to the sony shop yesterday and ask whether this phone got the 'zoom' function. He said no, bla bla bla and he said that this phone if u buy from those tele shops it's $0!!! I was like "WAT?!!!" Then I ran to the nearest singtel shop and saw that its $768 without line... A big sigh of relief... Damn u salesman, get your facts right!!

New Year Eve's gathering at PW's House

Spent the new year's eve at PW's house... Went over to help cook... Peel approximately 15 potatos that day ba... I am the official potato peeler... haha...
We made quite a number of dishes... Or rather PW made a number of dishes... Got lasagne, baked mushrooms, some expensive seafood + mush potato thing, salad... Bla bla bla... Its damn cool lor... Drank a lot of expensive champanges that night... Really enjoy their company...

I've watched 'Enchanted' with my ex-colleagues at Plaza Singapura last night... It was quite a funny movie... After the movie,I took a long bus ride home...

During the bus ride, I looked at all the different faces on the bus, by the roadside and on the road... Suddenly it occured to me that each and every one of them has a story behind each faces...

Since everyone has their own stories, there has to be characters... And who are the characters? Everyone whom they have come across and made an impact/difference in their lives and they too are characters of other people's stories... Everyone is interconnected and everyone has their own stories and everyone is part of a lot of other people's stories...

Have you thought about what kinda character are you in the stories of the people around you? Who are the main characters in your story?

I was about to go to sleep last night when this thought suddenly hit me...
Have you thank you pillows, bolsters, blanket and bed??

I was hugging my bolsters, lying on my pillows and bed, legs tuck under my blanket when I suddenly felt that these are all my best friends...

When I'm cold, my blanket gives me warm... When I'm sick, my bed let me rest... When I'm lonely, my bolster accomapnied me... When I'm sad, my pillows comforted me... They are always there when I need them... They know all my secrets and they dun complain when u are smelly and sticky... They are my best friends...

Here I shall thank my 3 pillows, 2 bolsters, blanket, bed and mattress on my bed... Love them...

I was about to go to sleep when I've gotten "The Stare". The story goes like this.

So and so bought a new cd. Its THE favourite singer's cd. I was curious about the album so I went to take a look at the cd. Apparently, I took out the whole album from the plastic cover (which I was not supposed to, because so and so wans all the albums to be protected from all the dust and dirt by the cover). When so and so trid to put the cd cover back into the plastic cover, the plastic cover broke. And it was there and then I've gotten 'The stare'. Ironically, the favourite singer is the Queen of LOVE songs. Which means I've gotten 'The Stare' because of the Queen of LOVE songs. Ha ha

So much so for the BIG LONG post about Action Reaction...

A situation

I dunno whether this situation has happened to you before, but I have always encounter this. Not once but a lot of times espcially during this reservist period. This situation is that when you are either bored, sian, nothing to do or just lazing around and you start to scroll down the phone list in your handphone. But after scrolling for a couple of times, you realised that all the names seems to be so distant to you that you cannot find someone you can call, msg or een to disturb.

If you do, how did you feel at that moment? What did you do after that? This is a sucky feeling right?? And this is what I was feeling last night... Sigh...

So hereby I shall congratulate those who never encountered this situation before and those who managed to find a remedy to this...

3rd day of reservist

Total waste of time... Wat make things worse is that on the first day of my reservist, there was an sms asking me to draw up 2 plans... WAH LAU!!! damn... Wait for me ah... wait for me...

Just came back home... I've enjoyed myself... I always like to hang out with them... Them as in my ex-colleagues esp with today's group... PW, Susan, Ray and wife... I love them from the bottom from my heart... Esp to PW because he always provide me light when I am in darkness... He is really my role model...

Dun forget my dear sista Susan... Love her too... She will give good advice and will listen to wat u say... A very good friend indeed... Thank God for that...

Back to the evening... We went to Central's Ma Maison... PW was the last to arrive... But before he came, the rest of us had already eaten... Not full though... So we decided to go for second round... We wanna bluff PW that we had waited for him before we eat, so wat we did was to clear everything from the table and pretended to be very hungry... And he really believe us.. haha... fun...

Then after we went to wine network at dempsey road... Drank 2 whites and 1 red... talked a lot of crap...

All and all it was a wonderful evening...

Was watching this ridiculous Hey! Gorgeous show on Channel U just now.... And I was totally pissed off by the hosts of the show, espcially the BBNB (Big Boobs No Brain) Fiona Xie and Ben Yeo, or rather the nature of the show itself...

Ok no doubt that this show is to find the prettiest people on campus, but does this show give them the privilege to make fun of those 'not up to standard' people? When the hosts went to look for the person with the most votes and if he/she is not that pretty Fiona Xie will give those 'disgusted' look on her face... And for this episode, it happens that all 3 guys were not that good looking and one of them was 'over-sized'... They started making fun of them and the 'over-sized' guy was being compared to a sumo picture... That was very humiliating...

One word to describe this show 'Superficial'...

So how many 'blah' sheeps this show is going to get??
